Paraquat

Paraquat is a toxic chemical that is widely used as an herbicide (plant killer), primarily for weed and grass control.

Paraquat Training Update

The National Pesticide Safety Education Center discontinued online and in-person Paraquat Dichloride Training for Certified Applicators, effective April 15, 2025.

Please utilize another EPA-approved training, such as Syngenta Crop Protection’s Paraquat Training.

Syngenta’s Paraquat Training

Syngenta’s Online Paraquat Training:

  • There is no charge for Syngenta’s training, and it is open to everyone.
  • There is an English and Spanish version for the training.
  • There is a one-time registration form requiring your name, email address, state, and pesticide application license number.
  • An automatic renewal email will be sent to remind users before their 3-year recertification renewal date.

Group Paraquat Training via Syngenta:

  • Group training can be accommodated via Zoom. Please contact Bart Clewis for details.

Syngenta Crop Protection’s Parquat Training Records

NPSEC Paraquat Training Records & Certificates

Completion Certificates

  • Individuals who completed NPSEC’s online paraquat training course should have downloaded or printed a copy of their completion certificate after passing the course exam. If you need a copy of your certificate, please log in to the Extension Foundation Online Campus to access the Paraquat Training Course and download your certificate. PLEASE NOTE: NPSEC’s Paraquat Training courses will be removed from the Extension Foundation Campus on May 15, 2025. All certificates must be downloaded before that date.
  • Individuals who completed in-person paraquat training should have received a completion certificate from the trainer upon passing the course exam.

NPSEC Paraquat Training Records

  • NPSEC will continue to maintain online paraquat training records until their 3-year expiration date. For assistance with online paraquat training records completed prior to May 15, 2025, please send an email with the subject line “Paraquat Training Certificate” to npsec.us@gmail.com
